A bibliometric analysis of the published literature in the field of animal health, at an international level.
The analysis of the publications data permits to identify the importance of animal health research by country, their main institutions as well as their specific research fields.
The number of publications by animal species and by disease and pathogen categories helps identify the main institutions and countries working on those themes.
This functionality allows to visualize and analyze collaborations between research institutions, based on their co-publications.
How was this database built ?
Specific data were selected from publication records of the ISI Web of Science, according to two criteria :
- to be published in English, from January 2006 to October 2010.
- to be in the scope of STAR-IDAZ (infectious and parasitic diseases of production animals), as defined by specific search queries combining a category of animal and a category of pathogenic agent or disease.
The database eventually included 31 097 publication records.
